On February 5, 2013, El Paso City Council approved a three year rollout plan for the voter approved 2012 Quality of Life Bond. The goal of the plan is to establish viable project development, design, bidding and construction schedules. The plan attempts to identify projects that are shovel-ready while also allowing for design and land acquisition to commence. On November 6, 2012, voters in the City of El Paso approved all three propositions included in the 2012 Quality of Life Bond, making it the largest bond passed in the City’s history at $473,250,000. The propositions passed with one of the largest voting margins for similar bonds across the nation.

The bond includes improvements for parks and recreation facilities, open space, libraries, museums, the Zoo, neighborhood improvements, and cultural and performing arts facilities. Please click here to see official ordinance with project information.
Bond Overview Advisory Committee (BOAC)
Upon successful passage of the bond election, the City Council will appoint interested citizens and activate the Bond Overview Advisory Committee. The BOAC be tasked with reviewing the progress of the 2012 Bond Issue Projects and to provide oversight and feedback to City Council and staff with regard to project expenditures and implementation.
