The Department of Information Technology Services (DoITS) is proud to provide vision, innovation, and phenomenal support services to our City leadership, internal client departments, and the community.
We strive to apply a compliment of good business improvement and technology innovation to do our part to support the strategy and services of the City of El Paso. Our Project Management and Support Services Divisions are critical in delivering professional and meaningful service experiences for all that depend on us to deliver their technological needs.
The infrastructure technologies and systems supported by DoITS include: data, telephone VoIP and video communication networks, data center and storage facilities, and public safety radio systems over a large, complex fiber optic cable and microwave infrastructure.

Enrique Martinez was chosen as the IT Superstar for the extraordinary effort that he has put forth with the Project Management Office over the past year.
The hard work and countless hours he has put in to ensure that a successful relocation from City Hall to several locations for all City Departments was representative of the effort and demeanor that should be inspirational for all employees.
During the relocation efforts the City of El Paso has been working on, Enrique has been pivotal in making the project a success by working with outside consultants, vendors, and all internal City staff. Enrique continues to strive towards the success of not only the City Hall relocation project, but additionally has focused his efforts on achieving the same type of success for the PC Refresh Deployment Project and the VoIP Project by providing exemplary service to all the teams and stakeholders involved.
A sincere congratulations and a heartfelt thank you is extended to Enrique from the Department of Information Technology Services Management and Staff!

The City of El Paso website now offers video streaming capabilities from mobile devices. As of December 2012, users can access live broadcasts of City Council, Special City Council, City Plan Commission and Ad Hoc Charter Advisory Committee Meetings via their Android, iPhone or iPad devices. Another service available for mobile devices is the Find your District Representative Map; an interactive map supported by the GIS group that allows users the ability to enter an address and search for the corresponding District Representative.
The Department of Information Technology Services is a major stakeholder in the relocation process. From the initial discovery of identifying all City IT assets, and infrastructure, our team provided service providers’ inventory for proper coordination and notification for the relocation or decommissioning of services at City Hall. Our team is actively engaged in the space and infrastructure planning associated with the new City Office Buildings. The infrastructure planning may include, but not limited to, designing of IT Closets, coordination of network cabling, and network hardware recommendations.
Digital El Paso was established to provide free wireless Internet access to the Downtown area and was later expanded to city owned publicly access facilities.
Digital El Paso is broadcast throughout all Libraries, 4 Sun Metro Transfer Terminals and EPIA. The wireless network consist of over 240 access points and continues to grow.
