Inspired by First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move initiative to reverse America’s obesity epidemic, Move! El Paso - Walking Trails is an initiative of the City of El Paso Department of Public Health in collaboration with community partners. It identifies and establishes safe walking trails and maps to encourage, support, and promote daily walking and other physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle. Experts recommend 30 minutes of moderate-level physical activity every day in order to improve and/or maintain a person's health. Walking is an activity that can be divided into three, 10-minute or two, 15-minute sessions.
