The City’s Environmental Services Department rolled out the Curbside Recycling Program with the “Drop it in the Blue” public outreach campaign on Earth Day of 2007.
The program has been a huge success, with over 85% of El Paso single-family houses participating.
Recyclables are collected once a week, on your regular garbage collection day. However, you may wait until your recycling cart is full before setting it out on your scheduled trash collection day.
Here are some more curbside recycling tips:
To recycle other items, including paint, cooking oil, furniture and tires, please check out Environmental Services Citizen Collection Stations’ webpage: http://home.elpasotexas.gov/environmental-services/citizen-collection-sites.php. There are five Citizen Collection Stations across El Paso that accept many items, and also offer free items, such as paint and mulch, to residents!
