OTHER INFORMATION

Full payment of an animal adoption fee is required in order to secure an adoption.  Partial payments are not accepted.  Adoptions may be cancelled if the animal is reclaimed by its rightful owner prior to final release to new adopter.

Because our goal is to save lives, animal adoptions are on a first come, first served basis.

Follow-up veterinary care for new pets is the sole responsibility of the adopter.  The adopter is encouraged to establish their newly adopted dog/cat with a veterinarian within 14 days of pickup.

The ESD Animal Shelter often has other animals available for adoption, including rabbits, birds, snakes, hamsters, guinea pigs, and ferrets.  Please call our office for those specific fees.

WISH LIST

Looking for a specific breed to adopt?  Animal Services frequently receives popular dog breeds.  One can request to be placed on our Wish List to be notified whenever Animal Services receives the breed that interests you.  However, notification of requested animal does not secure an adoption.  Adoptions remain on a first come, first served basis.  Requests for cats or other animal species are also accepted.
