The Environmental Services Department is committed to providing a clean, safe, healthy and beautiful environment for all El Paso residents to enjoy. As part of our mission, the Environmental Services team strives to maintain top quality code enforcement, environmental health and integrated solid waste management services that have a direct impact on the future of our community.
 
The Environmental Services Department is responsible for providing a wide range of services to the residents of El Paso. They include: garbage and curbside recycling collections, landfill operations, animal services programs, air quality monitoring, and code compliance enforcement among other services to help keep our community clean and beautiful.

Fourth of July Schedule for Collections, Landfill and Drop-off Sites

The Independence Day holiday will impact some solid waste operations for the City of El Paso Environmental Services Department.

The Fourth of July holiday will NOT impact trash and recyclable collections. Residents will have garbage and recycling collection on their scheduled collection day.

The Greater El Paso Landfill will be closed on July 4th in observance of the holiday.  The landfill will resume regular business hours on Friday, July 5th. The landfill, at 2300 Darrington Road, is normally open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The Citizen Collection Stations will be closed on July 4th in observance of the holiday. The drop-off sites will resume regular operating hours on Friday, July 5th. The sites are regularly open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and are located at: 121 Atlantic, 4200 Delta, 2492 Harrison, 4501 Hondo Pass and 1034 Pendale.
