Do you need a park, library or other type of public facility in your area, or do you have existing public facilities near your neighborhood that are in need of repair? If so, the City's Community Development Block Grant Program could help you.
Increasing Affordable Housing Opportunities & Rehabilitating Existing Housing Stock: Are you interested in purchasing your first home, but need down payment and closing cost assistance? Is your existing home in need of repair, but because of your income, you cannot afford to fix it because of the high interest rates? Do you need accessibility improvements in your home? If so, the City's HOME Investment Partnerships Grant is available for these and other purposes.
Addressing the Problem of Homelessness: Are you a non-profit agency that provides services to the homeless? If so, the City's Emergency Shelter Grant Program can assist your agency.
Providing Direct Services to the Elderly: Are you elderly and interested in volunteering to help disadvantaged youth and/or other elderly citizens of El Paso? Are you elderly and suffer from depression and loneliness? If so, the City's Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and the Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) offers volunteer opportunities to senior citizens and enriches the lives El Paso's older population by creating meaningful activities and direction.
Strengthening El Paso's Neighborhoods: Are you interested in forming a Neighborhood Association? Would you like your existing Neighborhood Association to receive information and/or training about City services? If so, the Neighborhood Services Division of Community and Human Development can assist you.
