Lily Limón is a retired educator, community leader and volunteer. She is an El Paso native who has lived in District 7 for more than 36 years. Limón graduated from Austin High School in 1969. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Texas at El Paso. Limón served as a Spanish teacher, assistant principal and principal in the Ysleta Independent School District, earning numerous awards for her distinguished service. She was the founding principal of César Chávez Academy, the Ysleta Independent School District’s first alternative school for adjudicated, expelled and court-ordered youth. Every student who graduated from César Chávez Academy earned at least a $1,000 scholarship.
