William F. Studer Jr.
William Studer is a practiced and skilled administrator with a broad range of experience in city government management, finance, community relations and economic development. Mr. Studer moved back to El Paso in January 2004 and was subsequently appointed as Deputy City Manager-Finance & Management Support Services on March 29, 2005.
As a Deputy City Manager, Mr. Studer oversees the Development & Tourism portfolio, which includes:
- City Development
- Community Development
- Museum & Cultural Affairs
- Convention & Performing Arts Center
- Parks & Recreation
Prior to occupying his current position, Mr. Studer was Deputy City Manager for the City of Arlington, Texas for over 15 years, providing strategic oversight and management accountability for all operational groups and departments within the city organization. Mr. Studer also worked as the Director of Management Services for the City of Arlington, Texas and in various positions, including Interim Director, for the Office of Budget and Research, City of Dallas, Texas.
Mr. Studer has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Texas at El Paso, completion of coursework requirements for a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Texas and is a graduate of the Program for Senior Executives of State and Local Government from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Mr. Studer formerly served as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association in Arlington and was a member of the Optimist Club of Arlington.
